Terms of Service

1. What this service does

gimgs.net (the “Service”) provides edge-cached delivery of images: logos for stock tickers, funds, and cryptocurrencies; brand and company logos; website favicons; preview thumbnails for publicly listed stock-media assets; and images rendered on the fly from text. When you request a URL, the Service either fetches the corresponding publicly available image from its original source (including public logo collections and favicon providers), caches a copy for faster subsequent delivery, or generates a placeholder image.

Some images are served from our own store, where a copy has been cached from a public source or submitted by a user (see section 4). In every case the Service is a delivery layer for images that are already public; it is not a source of original artwork.

2. Content ownership

• The Service acts solely as a cache and proxy for publicly available images. It does not host original creative works of its own, other than programmatically generated placeholders and text renders.
• We do not claim any ownership of, and make no claim of authorship over, any cached image. All trademarks, logos, and copyrighted works remain the property of their respective owners.
• Logos and brand marks are served for identification purposes only (e.g. labeling a ticker symbol in a watchlist). Their appearance on the Service does not imply any affiliation with, or endorsement by, the trademark owner.

3. Removal requests (takedown)

If you are a rights holder and believe the Service is caching an image in a way that infringes your rights, contact us at support@gimgs.net with the exact gimgs.net URL(s) concerned and a brief description of your claim. We will review the request and, where appropriate, remove the cached copy and block the corresponding URL. Because copies may persist in intermediate caches until their TTL expires, removal may take up to 24 hours to fully propagate.

4. User-submitted icons

Users and automated agents may submit icons through the Contribute form and the API (including the MCP endpoint) to fill gaps in the catalogue — for example a bank logo or a website favicon that is not available from any public source. By submitting an image you confirm that:

• You have the right to make it publicly available for identification purposes, or it is already publicly distributed by its owner for that purpose (e.g. an official logo or favicon).
• It contains no malicious or executable content. Submissions are checked automatically (file type, size, static SVG only) and may be reviewed by a person before going live; we may reject, edit, or remove any submission at our discretion and without notice.
• You grant gimgs.net a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, cache, and serve the image as part of the Service. You retain any rights you hold; no ownership transfers to us, and we make no ownership claim over submitted images.

Submitted images are subject to the same removal process as cached images (section 3). Rights holders may request removal of any submitted image at any time.

5. AI-generated images (CC0)

The Service also hosts a library of AI-generated stock images (the “CC0 Library”, at gimgs.net/ai-images and embedded on the homepage). These images are generated with artificial-intelligence models and are released under the Creative Commons CC0 1.0 dedication: you may copy, modify, and use them for any purpose, including commercially, without permission or attribution.

• AI-generated content may unintentionally resemble existing artworks, trademarks, products, or real persons. You are responsible for verifying that your specific use complies with applicable law — trademark, publicity, and similar rights are not covered by CC0.
• The CC0 Library is provided as is; we may add, edit, or remove images at any time. If you believe an image is problematic, contact us (section 3) and we will review and remove it where appropriate.

6. Discover pages and affiliate links

Discover pages (gimgs.net/discover/…) are editorial pages introducing third-party products and services. Some links on these pages are referral (affiliate) links: if you sign up or make a purchase through them, we may receive a commission at no extra cost to you. Such links are marked with rel="sponsored". The content reflects our own experience and opinions; it is not financial or investment advice, and third-party services are governed by their own terms.

7. Acceptable use

• You may hotlink and embed images served by gimgs.net in your own applications and websites.
• You may not use the Service to misrepresent the origin or ownership of an image, or to imply endorsement by a brand or rights holder.
• You may not abuse the Service — including bulk scraping, systematic enumeration of URLs, or any usage pattern that degrades the Service for others. We may rate-limit or block abusive traffic at our discretion.
• You may not use the submission features to upload content you do not have the right to distribute, or to impersonate a brand or website.

8. Availability and warranty

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied. Upstream sources may change, move, or remove images at any time; cached copies may therefore become stale or unavailable. We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or fitness for any particular purpose of any image served. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we accept no liability for any damages arising from use of, or inability to use, the Service.

9. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version is always available at gimgs.net/terms. Continued use of the Service after a change constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.

These terms are published in English, Vietnamese, and Portuguese. Translations are provided for convenience only; if there is any inconsistency, the English version prevails.
